THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and George R.R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin--one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin--and his world--forever.

This book has explicit sex in it. Why Apple rates it for kids is beyond me.
  • This book was so good BUT THEN

I was really enjoying this book- sure at times the writing contained stereotypical flaws of YA girl novels; redundancy, unreliable descriptions of the state of dress (or undress in most cases), info dumps, etc ; this was more then made up for with the amount of fan service (hot dudes in all the situations you want them to be in) -BUT THEN ||spoiler I guess|| the second half of the plot hinges on the fact that the protagonist can't solve THIS INCREDIBLY SIMPLE RIDDLE !! Like the first time I read it through I instantly knew the answer, I actually thought it was some kind of trick, ITS SO FREAKIN OBVIOUS it makes the trials that follow it unbearable, SHE STRAIGHt UP KILLS PEOPLE BECAUSE SHE CANT FIGURE IT OUT! Now we know why the first guy she stabbed was so bitter, I'm sure he saw the idiocy, and then the lady after is just resigned to her fate like "this dumb illiterate human b****... lord help us". I was so upset. I'm still gonna read the sequel, but yeah...

It's such a great mixture of so many great stories. It has everything from Beauty and the Beast to Alice In Wonderland to Greek myth in it in terms of style and influence. The sample was a little lacking, if only because it couldn't fully convey how great the book was going to be without spoiling anything or giving you too many hints about what was to come. So, if you're unsure about buying this after reading the sample, trust me, buy it. It has such incredible payoffs in it later on and is really well written. And totally fun.

If you're like me then you know what it feels like to have just finished a book series and feel so utterly depressed and you tell yourself, "No, there is absolutely no way I can ever read anything else". Well, I had just finished another series when I found this one. I was really just looking for something to keep my from re-reading the last one, to be honest. At first, I wasn't sure I was going to get into this book. Not for lack of good writing or story telling, I just wasn't feeling it. But then, with literally just one turn of a page, I was absolutely enthralled. The world that Maas created it both breathtaking and heartbreaking at the same time. The characters are all very well written and they each have so much depth, personality, and history. This book honestly, though there is no direct similarities to either, reminded me of both Twilight and Game of Thrones. Twilight because of the romance - girl that thinks she isn't beautiful or strong finds her night in shining armor that will do anything to protect her. Game of Thrones because of the world that she created and then some - you'll have to keep reading 😉 No matter what - whether you are fighting off the woes of finishing another series or maybe you don't think this one is for you - READ IT ANYWAYS! It's sexy, brilliant, beautiful, and utterly captivating.

This book was great and after the first few chapters had me glued to my phone, but it's a bit predictable. Think Beauty and the Beast with Katniss Everdeen as Belle. Regardless, I couldn't put it down and would definitely recommend it to those who want an easy YA book to devour.
