Diana Gabaldon is now my favorite author. The Outlander series is fantastic. First and foremost a love story, next a historical fiction that made me research both the Scottish uprising of 1746 and the American Revolution, and thirdly a sci-fi fantasy of time travel so realistic it seems highly plausible. The characters are so real we empathize with all their pain and happiness. These are books very hard to put down. Now in going to start on the rest of her books and then reread the entire series and I will be impatiently waiting for the ninth book.
